Rebuilding our vegie patch. 

Left to it's own devices whilst my babe was 'in arms' the vegie patch became a haven for all rampant species of couch grass. My pet hate & worst garden nightmare. So we pulled the whole thing apart, dug out the couch & started again. Check out my big helper.....

Check out that smile, the utter joy. 

I can hear his giggle, his belly laugh, as I sit here typing 14 months later.

These are the moments I remember. The moments I wish I could bottle up & play on demand each & every day. The moments that pull on my heart strings just a little too tight, so that right now I'll go snuggle up with that sleeping (now 2.5 year old) & breathe him just a little deeper & a little longer before I too drift off to sleep.

Miles started walking properly!

He's been able to walk for ages ~ around furniture, along walls, etc, but we've not pushed him. Easier said than done. Trying to remember to enjoy every moment. Embrace him for who he is in the moment. No need to be bigger, better, faster, more ___.

Anyway, today we were with Sarah & Mia, Beth & Lucas & Grandma Leighton, and Miles was watching Lucas stumble around. He looked him up & down with curiosity & then.... comprehension. 

"I can so do that". He stood up & walked. Just like that. Yay for him. 

& still we don't push, no 'one more step, show mama', none. He is so confident. He did it for himself. Not to please us. The joy is in him. I love it.

We take snaps with the computer... kinda crazy & wonderful what can be done with modern technology. So we take them & send them to the Papa at work, to make him smile, or laugh, or breathe. Mostly they are of little M, I'm usually, like most other things, in the background making it all happen. But sometimes I'm in one too, unplanned & unexpected but a nice reminder for me ~ to see the warmth & the love & the smiles... he smells so good, so very good.
