My beautiful little boy is what I want to write about, he's why I'm inspired to write. He is utterly delightful. A week off 19 months & so very cool.

Today he got on a surfboard for the first time & loved it. He's talking - 'da's ki' (dad's bike) & helping, he'll wash his highchair while I wash the benches, put his washing in the basket, fetch his bottle from the bedroom & bring it to the dishwasher. He wants to feed himself at every meal now ~ but not his snacks. I have to feed them to him!

He loves the sand pit, his 'we ow we ow' fire truck, avocado, icy fruit poles & his mama.

Today when he woke from nap I went to cuddle him in bed for a while until he was ready to get up. I kept asking 'should we get up now?, should we have lunch?' he'd shake his head 'no no no' & snuggle in for more cuddles. Then we were both hysterical playing a new game ~ he'd touch my lip & I'd sneeze. We were both in fits of laughter & cuddles.

He says 'more' clear as day, makes fish sounds & dog sounds. He likes elephants & books about children. He loves lucy & 'jo jo'.

He adores his papa. He spends most of the day wearing Paulies work gloves, hat & shoes. Sometimes he likes to wear Paulies t-shirt too. He likes to listen to him on the phone. He waves & kisses the phone. When Paulies not really there he says 'hi dad' & 'see a ater'.

Every week is better than the last.

Little Bird

October 2007

Miles really loves books at the moment. He has a fave for a week or so & then chooses a new one. First it was one about a bird - hop, hop hopping, then one about transport, he especially liked the bike & the noises I made for it. Now his favourite is about a baby boy who wakes up, plays, dresses, plays, eats, bathes & goes to bed. Miles kisses the little boy goodnight when we get to that page. Delightful.....

We've started swimming at the pool - Mt Martha cos it's salt water. Twice now, today was our second time. The first time the water was cold & miles was pretty nervy. Today not so much, although he didn't want to go when I told him, he became very busy & focused on his toys & got very stroppy when I took him to the car. He protested when I changed him into his bathers but after about 10 minutes in the water he relaxed. He had the most fun making eyes at all the oldies swimming up & down.

'Tonight I'll talk about my boy. :) 

He is lovely, superlovely.

He is 6 days off 16 months. He is walking... running almost. Saying so many things that sound like words. Everyday there is a new one. Du,t (do it), when he is trying to do something a bit tricky or his latest fave is to sniff anything that is 'pretty' or 'plant' so flowers, lettuce, fabric, candles. He sniffs it then still sniffing, puts it to your nose. Just perfect.'

Rebuilding our vegie patch. 

Left to it's own devices whilst my babe was 'in arms' the vegie patch became a haven for all rampant species of couch grass. My pet hate & worst garden nightmare. So we pulled the whole thing apart, dug out the couch & started again. Check out my big helper.....
